This course explores global human trafficking with focus on efforts in Colorado. A review of multidisciplinary perspectives on labor and sex traffickingprovides comprehensive understanding of this human rights issue. Students examine the tactics used by traffickers to recruit and control victims and the effects of abuse on victims. This course provides an overview of U.S. federal and local laws to curb trafficking, including the federal TraffickingVictims Protection Act. Finally, students evaluate global and local efforts of the current anti-trafficking movement, including ways to be involved.
This course is 100% online and Self Paced. Students are expected to complete the course within the scheduled course dates. Students will access the course via the MSU Denver Canvas platform.
